Meriwether Lewis Quote

"I had in all human probability existed about half the period which I am to remain in this Sublunary world ... I had as yet done but little, very little, indeed, to further the happiness of the human race, or to advance the information of the succeeding generation. I viewed with regret the many hours I have spent in indolence, and now sorely feel the want of that information which those hours would have given me had they been judiciously expended ... I resolved in future, to redouble my exertions ... to live for mankind, as I have heretofore lived for myself."

- Meriwether Lewis, August 18, 1805, on occasion of his 31st birthday

Poor Meriwether. What a beautiful name he had.
Bless his heart.

Perkiomen Daydreams Begins

This glorious quilt is only for the truly manic, obsessed, tenacious, has nothing better to do than sew 1 1/2" squares together....person. Do not attempt this at home unless you are sincerely committed. Of course you could always make this as a mini-quilt and save yourself a lot of work, but would I choose that? Noooooooo...I always commit to the biggest quilt possible...jump in with both feet...and finally finish it 10 years later. I think having a giant for a husband is only one reason why I have a tendency to think "BIG" as far as quilts go.

Behold...the beautiful Perkiomen Daydreams from Bonnie Hunter's book Scraps and Shirtails.

These pictures are just layout play.
