Hi.

An old painting in my living room

Glued to a book shelf

From the living room floor
A shelf in the kitchen full of "Grandma"

Behind the toilet.  Guess who is back there???

Key Tag Vintage Ornaments

I saw this idea over at French Country Cottage a few weeks ago.
I had the supplies to make my own, so I put some together for my booth and for gifts.

You don't really need a tutorial, as it's super easy and self explanatory so I'll just give you tips.
I bought a box of vintage red ornaments for .88 cents at a thrift store and the key tags were maybe a box of 50 for $7.00 (I don't remember).

You'll need tiny little stamp letters, ink and key tags.

You'll need to stick to 3 to 5 letter words.  More than 5 letters became a little crowded.
I was stumped a few times with my words.  I stuck with Christmasy and Fruits of the Spirit kind of words, but you could do personal names, or words that mean something to you and your faith and family.

Practice spelling and stamping on paper first.  You don't want to waste your key tags with mistakes.
I think they are a little expensive to throw away.

I think any stamp would look cute on the key tag if your children can't work the tiny little font stamps.
Do your own thing.  Hope this inspires you.

BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING.

White Ironstone Pitcher (thrift find)

I have never set out to collect Ironstone.
I don't know much about it other than I just LIKE IT.

This most delicious little darling, curled in a helpless ball on the floor of a dirty thrift shop, leaped into my arms and kissed my face all over like a happy Chihuahua.  The thrift store allowed me to Foster it, knowing I'm a good person with a big heart and would take good care of it until it can be placed in a Forever Home.

I want to keep her but my husband says we can't keep every Ironstone Pitcher Pet we find and is making me pass her on.

Meanie!

I'm already attached!!!!!

Look at her strong pedigree.  Love her beautiful lines and rich texture.
Her color is creamy deliciousness.

I put a Christmas Tree in her and she is up at the Hole in the Wall........waiting to be adopted.  I might go up and visit it today, just to pet it a few times and make sure it isn't lonely.  :)

Be blessed and Be a Blessing.

Decorated Antique Booth for Christmas

Exhausted and Blessed.

I have to keep this short as I can hardly keep my eyes open, but wanted to show friends and my MOM........Hi Mama!!!..........what I've been doing night and day, for 2 weeks.

I have been in a big hurry to get the booth up and running as 40,000 people come to the tiny town of Dade City, Florida for Christmas celebrations and festivities.

My booth is in a Hole in the Wall location called Annetta's Attic.  If you blink, you'll miss it.  She also owns Annetta's Antiques down on the corner as well, but my stuff is up in the attic.   And my booth is a literal "hole in the wall".......an old closet.  Perfect for me.

Not too big.  Not too small.  Just right.

OK, I'm sorry but every time I turn down the hall to my little booth, I start humming "Hotel California" with my own lyrics.

On a dark cluttered hallway, need wind in my hair
Warm smell of moth balls, rising up through the air.... (lame)

Ok, this is what the very busy, cluttered, full of "Junque" hallway looks like.  That stuff is not mine
My stuff is in the closet
I'm second left after the Pepsi machine.  Got it?

Here are before and after shots.  Whoopideee Dooo!!!

Pshawwyeeaaa!!!  Coming together.

Yikes!  Empty wall space!  Must. Put. Something. There.

Got a lot to do, but it's coming together and behaving nicely for me.
No fights with Junque so far.

I have a big Pyrex collection and my friends freaked out when they saw I was starting to break it up and get rid of it.  I had to take it out of the booth and let them have first dibs.

It kills me to sell my aqua and pink pyrex but my son's teeth and college education are more important, right?  RIGHT????

I stinkin' LOVE this little aqua tree.  I put a million dollars on it, so maybe it won't sell.
hahaha  Naaaa...I put a fair price. *sniff*  Hope no one else likes it.

And this is what it finally looked like when I left it today.  I'm a perfectionist and it upsets me to post pictures with an imperfect, so much left unfinished, booth space.......but alas, I'm 44 now and I'm getting closer to the age of not carrying so much about what people think.....  So here ya go.

Now if people would just come in and buy!!!!!  The economy is bad.  I know.  :(  But, but, but......I just GOTTA succeed.  If I fail, my husband will make me stop pickin' and shopping.......and that would be very bad.....for me.

And for him.

BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING!!!

Pooh tells a not so funny story

My mom was in a "not feeling so well" mood tonight.  She thought taking the dog for a quick walk would clear her head of the "oogies".  As if I'm going to sit around and watch the dog be the source of her joy and mood improvement. !!!  I must win.  Meeeoooowwwrrrrrrr...

She walks down the very dark street with the stupid, in a hurry to smell everything delicious, DOG.  I think it will be a good idea to follow her all the way down the street, way down the street, way way down the street...in the dark.  With traffic coming and going.
CRAP!  She saw me.

Busted.  Quick.  Run and make her chase me.  That always makes her laugh.  She likes playing tag.  Her absolute favorite thing to do is trying to catch me in the neighbors shrubs at night.  She loves to play hide and seek with me.  Wait, what???  Why is she screaming and yelling?  I thought I was making her happy.  Ohhhhh boy.  I'm in trouble.  I think I better hide under a car and....quietly, tip...toe.. back home.

(If I was a gentleman, I would help her catch the dog who also got away while she was trying to catch me.  But I'm a little intimidated by her anger at the moment.  She's on her own.  I'll stay down here under a car, where it's safe)

She is giving me the silent treatment.  WHATEVER LADY!!!  I tried!!!
I stick my tongue out at you with passive aggressive afterthought.
(I will sneak into bed with her tonight about 2:00 am.  She'll never know.  I STILL WIN!)

Meanie.

The Last Rose of the Season

“Hold everything in your hands lightly, otherwise
it hurts when God pries your fingers open.”

~ Corrie Ten Boom ~

Of course a Texan living in Florida is going to have a Yellow Rose bush in her back yard.
My last rose of the season I think.  She smells sooooooo good.

Veteran's Day is very real

For some of us, it's not a holiday.  It's not really something I enjoy celebrating
And I don't really like talking about it.

I know I feel proud.  And I'm grateful for all Veterans.  I guess I just feel sad.

I thought I would post this so you would remember it is REAL......  Families suffer forever.  Yes we move on.  But we never recover.
And closure is extraordinarily difficult, if it happens at all.

People are killed serving our country, because they love the United States and believe in what
they are doing.  They believe in their jobs and work very hard.

So thank all veterans.  Don't be a lukewarm, apathetic citizen or voter.

My sweet son who hates to have his picture taken, is standing with my father's flag,
after his memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.  Little Jonah never got to meet him.  :(

My dad's grave at Arlington.  Life is short.  Make your life right with God and your family.
You never know when you just lived your last day.

A week in Greens

Just a little glimpse at our week.
I noticed a trend.  :)

I have been very busy with the etsy store and my new booth.  If I go for a long time without sewing, I get grumpy.  Hand work is my savior, as it keeps my brain cleansed of twaddle and worry.  It's good to empty it out and meditate or pray while your fingers are busy accomplishing something loving...usually a gift or something to keep my family warm, safe and cuddled.

Pooh picked out 2 shades of Green for me to use.
Baby Milo's quilt.  I was inspired by those cute, scrappy confetti quilts.  I'm calling this
"The Emerald City Quarry".
LOL
It fits, yes?

A quiet homeschool moment.  He doesn't like it when I take his picture.  I told him to chill out, I was taking a picture of my lamp.  He wasn't buying it.

A friend brings balloons.

Oh, and here is the backing.  It's Ten Little Things, from Jenn Ski, Moda.  It looks like Lily Rose Quilts at Etsy has a lot of it.  Support small business and Etsy.  :)

And in the spirit of greening, a little quote from Anne of Green Gables

"I do NOT like patchwork," said Anne dolefully, hunting out her
workbasket and sitting down before a little heap of red and white
diamonds with a sigh. "I think some kinds of sewing would be
nice; but there's no scope for imagination in patchwork. It's
just one little seam after another and you never seem to be
getting anywhere. But of course I'd rather be Anne of Green
Gables sewing patchwork than Anne of any other place with nothing
to do but play. I wish time went as quick sewing patches as it
does when I'm playing with Diana, though. Oh, we do have such
elegant times, Marilla. I have to furnish most of the
imagination, but I'm well able to do that. Diana is simply
perfect in every other way."

Life Among Orange Groves

Hello beautiful people.
Would you like to see where your orange juice is growing?

In my neighborhood!!!
(Deep in the heart of Pasco County, FL)

Harvest will be in a month or two.

“We cannot live without the Earth or apart from it, and something is shrivelled in a man's heart when he turns away from it and concerns himself only with the affairs of men”
~ Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

"A man ought to carry himself in the world as an orange tree would if it could walk up and down in the garden, swinging perfume from every little censer it holds up to the air." ~

"And every day when I've been good, I get an orange after food." - Robert Louis Stevenson

“You do somethin' for me? Go tell Twink I'll meet her at the old grove Tuesday about dusk-dark."

Holy Smokes.  He scared the living day lights out of me.  Do you see him?

A thermometer in an orange grove.  Very important!
