I'm so proud of myself when I have sudden bursts of self-discipline.
I actually went into the thrift store today,
but only allowed myself to stay a few minutes.
Didn't dig through books for an hour.
In. And. Out.
Yay! Go me!!
I spent less than $5.00, give or take a few.
Who's counting, anyway???
(ummm...my husband! Doh!)
(And if you really must know, the reason why I couldn't play "thrift store" longer today is because I've moved my booth into a much bigger room and I'm working myself sick. Ugh. Exciting times but it's killer work. I know it looks like fun and IT IS, but being a "dealer", or a good one,
is HARD, VERY HARD work).

I grabbed it for the frame. $1.00. Sadly, that bird is going in the trash.
It was eaten by feather eating somethings. Ick
.20 cents for this wooden heart. It's the sweetest thing. I'm in love.
It's a gorgeous ox-blood red color.
I think they made these things in shop, back in the day. Do they still?
$1.00. It's unmarked but it "reads" Homer Laughlin and my rule is,
"No Homer Laughlin left behind"
(or Homer Laughlin look alikes).
It's a cute little bowl, perfect for something.
Am I the only one excited about these? .50 cents a piece.
Best. Show. EVER!!! McDonald's, 1981.
A vintage pot holder for .10 cents, a set of pillow cases .50 cents a piece and.........
A .50 cent, tiny PLASTIC GNOME!!!
He freakin' winked at me and I was like.....whaaaa?
Holy Cow, you're comin' home with me, little fella!!!
I want to put him in my purse as my good luck charm or as my "conscience".
Like Jiminy Cricket or something.
Oh my gosh, I love him so much.
2 vintage cards for .10 cents.
I will never pass up inexpensive vintage paper.
Never ever.
A small little pottery planter marked Japan. I like these things.
Perfect for a window ivy or succulant.
I'm sure it's from the early 70's.
.50 cents.
What should I name him? He just winked at you and told you to say hello in the comments section. True story! |

Son and I stopped at our best thrift shop on Friday and it was mobbed. Never saw so many customers and the shelves were almost bare. We stopped by the book room and chose a few, but that was a first: only one bag, of books. Love your little gnome!
Well that's odd. I wonder if the new thrift store song is making everyone crazy for grandpa's clothes. LOL
Great finds and your pup...adorable!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
Oh I love popping in a thrift store and having something wink at me! He is cute cute cute! Love your header photo! Hugs, Linda
The sweet gnome should be "Ruff" of course. Love that flowered bowl - it does seem Homer-like. I am the same way with odd pieces of Buffalo China. I was good this weekend also - only bought a few things. I mostly cleaned and tagged - the yucky side of being a dealer!
Give Bruiser a pat for me.
Oh I just know the situation so well ... Using a hour to go trough books :) the bowl and the wooden hearts are just lovely, among other cute finds! You have such a cozy atmosphere here on your blog ... So I'll be popping by more often,
Nina
Great finds and great prices! My local thrift store is never that exciting-- I couldn't spend an hour there if I tried! Love Bulldogs too! Thanks for the blog visit and comment!
Cool finds! I used to have those glasses when I was a kid.
Loving the gnome & the glasses. I've only got Miss Piggy.
Um yes...how could anyone NOT love the Muppet glasses? And the flowered bowl is lovely. And your bullie is the cutest thing ever!
Alot of great stuff / love the cute gnome! :)
you are right - that bowl is lovely! and i really like the seventies plant pot.
Great Finds! That frame is wonderful and I love the floral bowl!
Love all these finds, esp the little gnome!
I suspect your thrift stores have better buys than the ones we have here. I'm more than a tad jealous! :)
Hello, nice to meet you! He freakin winked at me too! He knows an op shopper when he meets one..
Love all your scores - great hunting!
wow! $5.00 good for you. I always over spend. It is my addiction.
Thank you for linking up!

Great thrifty finds!
I think I had a couple of those McDonald's glasses way back when...
That little gnome, he looks just like Tom Courtenay's character William Dorrit in BBC's Little Dorrit.
:)
Great finds, Mr. Gnome is just too cute!!
You are right. The little pottery planter is from the 70's. I have one just like it with a different flower painted on it. I bought it myself new in the 70's.
Lots of awesome thrifted treasures! And all for under $5.00. You did great! Thank you for sharing at TTF. Have a great day!
I love that wood heart you bought for only 10 cents, and the gnome is a fabulous find, too! Ditto on the frame and HL bowl. :)
