A week in Greens

Just a little glimpse at our week.
I noticed a trend.  :)

I have been very busy with the etsy store and my new booth.  If I go for a long time without sewing, I get grumpy.  Hand work is my savior, as it keeps my brain cleansed of twaddle and worry.  It's good to empty it out and meditate or pray while your fingers are busy accomplishing something loving...usually a gift or something to keep my family warm, safe and cuddled.

Pooh picked out 2 shades of Green for me to use.
Baby Milo's quilt.  I was inspired by those cute, scrappy confetti quilts.  I'm calling this
"The Emerald City Quarry".
LOL
It fits, yes?

A quiet homeschool moment.  He doesn't like it when I take his picture.  I told him to chill out, I was taking a picture of my lamp.  He wasn't buying it.

A friend brings balloons.

Oh, and here is the backing.  It's Ten Little Things, from Jenn Ski, Moda.  It looks like Lily Rose Quilts at Etsy has a lot of it.  Support small business and Etsy.  :)

And in the spirit of greening, a little quote from Anne of Green Gables.

"I do NOT like patchwork," said Anne dolefully, hunting out her
workbasket and sitting down before a little heap of red and white
diamonds with a sigh. "I think some kinds of sewing would be
nice; but there's no scope for imagination in patchwork. It's
just one little seam after another and you never seem to be
getting anywhere. But of course I'd rather be Anne of Green
Gables sewing patchwork than Anne of any other place with nothing
to do but play. I wish time went as quick sewing patches as it
does when I'm playing with Diana, though. Oh, we do have such
elegant times, Marilla. I have to furnish most of the
imagination, but I'm well able to do that. Diana is simply
perfect in every other way."

Disappointment engulfs poor Pooh.  Mama won't let him cuddle the baby quilt and decorate it with his pretty Ginger furr.  Meanie!

Life Among Orange Groves

Hello beautiful people.
Would you like to see where your orange juice is growing?

In my neighborhood!!!
(Deep in the heart of Pasco County, FL)

Harvest will be in a month or two.

~ George Orwell

“We cannot live without the Earth or apart from it, and something is shrivelled in a man's heart when he turns away from it and concerns himself only with the affairs of men”
~ Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

"A man ought to carry himself in the world as an orange tree would if it could walk up and down in the garden, swinging perfume from every little censer it holds up to the air." ~

"And every day when I've been good, I get an orange after food." - Robert Louis Stevenson

“You do somethin' for me? Go tell Twink I'll meet her at the old grove Tuesday about dusk-dark."

Holy Smokes.  He scared the living day lights out of me.  Do you see him?

A thermometer in an orange grove.  Very important!

Etsy Bitsy

Been working hard on my Etsy store ~ Sweet Woodruffs.  It's very hard work but brings me great pride and joy.  I think I could work 12 hours a day, for weeks and weeks, and still not have things the way I want them.
Being a perfectionist doesn't pay well, when time is money.

It would help if I was better with technology too.  I'm slow with my camera and the internet.
Wish I could learn faster, but "ain't nobody got time for that".

Anyhoo.....here are some of items which have been listed thus far...

Some of my favorite Get Well cards.  I have tons!

I'm also going to have my own antique booth again, in Dade City, FL. I had an AWESOME one in Texas, but haven't "boothed" since moving to Florida.  I have missed it.  It's fairly good money.  You have to know what you're doing and I wouldn't say it's "easy" money, cuz it's butt kicking work, but it IS fun money (my husband would say too much fun).  Oy vey!

A few Cabinet Cards and Photos.  I'll be listing more.

Yay for doing what you love!!!  Plus the extra $$$ will help.
Teens, their teeth and education are expensive.

Some new Crochet Doily and Handkerchief pattern books

I hope if you love vintage paper, or have a friend who loves vintage ephemera, photos, cards, patterns, etc... You favorite my store and visit often.
Please spread the word.  Share my store with others.

More stationery and cards!  Sweet!

Vintage Quilt, sewing, cross stitch, crochet, knitting patterns

Be blessed and be a Blessing!

A Tutorial from my Dog to yours.....

Lee Lee the Cow Dog is my guest poster today.

She wants to share with other canine readers how she gets

Pooh the Narcissistic Cat to play with her.

(Caution:  If you don't own a pair of safety goggles, it might be safest to try this in your back yard, as you will have plenty of room to run.......or run away......if necessary).

1:  Circle Cat.  While circling, give Cat stink eye.  HOWEVER, make sure growl is non threatening.

2:  Bark obnoxiously.  Don't. Stop. Barking.  Go round and round and round.  Keep Barking.

3:  Hop, jump and skip.  Show Cat how much fun it is to play.

4:  Keep expectations low.  That way you won't be disappointed when you are inevitably spurned or swatted.

5:  If swatted, cry loudly.  Mommy will feel sorry for you and naughty cat will be scolded.  (Yes!!!  I win!!!)

6:  If cat starts acting like a Killer Rabbit....RUN AWAY!  RUN AWAY!

Hope you find this tutorial helpful.  Ruff!  Ruff!
